Easy DIY Spa You Can Do Every Weekend

Easy DIY Spa You Can Do Every Weekend

Do you want to tune out for the rest of the weekend? If you have a few hours to yourself, you can have this easy DIY home spa day that is just as perfect as the real thing! Whether you want to focus and do this in the morning to start your day right, unwind during a sleepy afternoon or simply set the mood before falling into that deep restful slumber you deserve, this easy DIY spa treatment can be done at the comforts of your own home or during vacation. Remember to take care of yourself first because if you can't love yourself, you can't love and give yourself to the people around you, so just relax and soak your worries and sungit away with this easy spa routine.

Step 1: Get into the mood

Your body is tired but your mind is still trapped inside your email inbox, so get into the spa zone with your chill out playlist, sip some lavender or chamomile tea or if you prefer, some sparkling wine. Listen to your body and let your shoulders drop to relax and breathe in deeply, and make sure you are free from any sort of screen, this is the time to leave your phone alone.

Step 2: Facial Steam

Get a small pot of hot water not boiling and add a few drops of essential oil such as lavender, chamomile, jasmine and eucalyptus. Place a towel over your head and breathe in deeply for about 10 minutes. The towel helps trap the steam inside and diffuse the essential oils and act as not only as aromatherapy but to open your pores and awaken your senses.

Step 3: Body and Facial Scrub

Jump into the shower and use your favorite body and face scrub, it can be a sugar scrub, salt scrub or my personal fave, coffee scrub from Zenutrients. Since your pores are already open from the facial steam this is the best time to exfoliate and remove impurities that cause blackheads and other gunk that tends to get stuck inside your pores.

Step 4: Bath Time

You can use essential oils mixed in with warm bath water such as lavender, grapefruit, and peppermint for a detox bath. For a long, relaxing shower instead of soaking in a bathtub, I prefer Soak Opera's Spring Fever Soap with Orange Oil and pink Himalayan salt to purify and detoxify skin.

Step 5: Facial Mask

Slather a thick layer of aloe vera gel and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off. Aloe vera not only moisturizes well but it can soothe redness and skin irritations and also balance skin oils. This can also be used as a hair mask. Any sheet mask of your choice is also great for pampering, but for brightening, healing and moisturizing, Mediheal biocellulose masks are perfect.

Step 6: Body Oil

Instead of using your regular lotion, body oils are great in making your skin velvety smooth and can maintain intense moisture while imparting a healthy, sexy glow. Body oils from Tropical Shop PH are great and affordable, the vanilla and lavender oils help you cozy up and relax before you sleep.
